About Bukidnon Province
The landlocked province of Bukidnon is popularly known as the Fruit and Vegetable Basket of Mindanao. Moreover, the name came from the word “bukid” which meant farm and land. The name of the province doesn’t only refer to the place but it also refers to its people.
Traveling to Bukidnon gives you that Tagaytay or Baguio feeling, only it is better. The view of the mountain ridges from outside the window of your bus, deep forests, farmlands, cloud-capped mountains and cascading rivers and waterfalls will definitely capture every nature-lover’s hearts.
How to Get There?
Take note that there is no operational airport open for public transportation in Bukidnon. The closest airport will be Laguindingan Airport (CGY) in Cagayan de Oro. Which is why CDO is a famous gateway to the province of Bukidnon.
Step 1: Book a direct flight from MNL to CGY with the airline of your choice (Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, etc)
Step 2: From CGY airport, ride a van outside the airport going to Agora Bus Terminal. Van fare costs Php200-300.00 and travel time is about an hour. Important note: the airport in CGY is an hour away from the main city.
Step 3: From Agora Bus Terminal, ride a bus bound to Bukidnon.
Where to Stay in Bukidnon?
We stayed at Rotypeaks Ridge Camp when we came here last August 2022. The place is also a famous destination and tourists go here because it is really Instagram-worty! Which is why we decided to spend the night here because it is a tourist spot and a tourist destination at the same time. I spent Php1,500.00 for an A-frame Kubo good for 2 for an overnight stay.
